Voice Task

What to do: For two minutes, each participant will start to write out a scene. At the end of two minutes, the papers will rotate in a circle around the group and each person will have two minutes to continue writing from the “prompt” set by the previous participant. This will continue around the group until the paper returns to the first participant.

Purpose: No two characters ever have the same voice. Beginner writers tend to have one voice since they are still learning how to write. However, the goal will be for the participant to adapt to the voice already set in the “prompt” and eventually be able to float between the different voices of the characters.
