Setting Task

What to do: The organizers are to find pictures of different inanimate objects that are the same object. For our group, we did wallpaper. The participants are to create a story for or behind the wallpaper. They can say who put up the wallpaper, what happens in that rooms (you can use the perspective of the wallpaper if you want). After some brief sharing, the participants will return to their favorite image of a wallpaper to develop what they wrote even further for five minutes.

Purpose: Engage the writer into the setting and develop the setting and meaning. This helps the author add significance to ordinary features of setting leads to a symbolic and purposeful setting.
